Wilder is Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Modern Poetry at EastWestern University, Purewater Campus in Purewater, Kansas.  He is the biographer and former close personal friend of the late poet Bean Newton and editor of Bean Newton’s posthumous books Horseradish, Hot Rod, and Screaming Through the Blood On My Pillow.  He continues to sift through Newton’s papers and memoirs in search of new material and to publish on matters of great literary and cultural importance.  He says of Newton’s writings, "They certainly are large!"
