beauty
theme park

Allen Taylor
I wanted to see my depression---
sudden though it came---
as lovely
winds and reeds and bending
a flow of emotions
but then the glare of it all
the neon
the spiteful little self-created rollercoaster
found me
when he said
so honestly
without crying
that his son
who is three
would need heart surgery
I'm such a selfish
bitch sometimes
trapped on the whirling
ride of my own creation
