Pair of Eyes Lost
by Regis N. Kelly

Milton is sitting and fiddling with
his brand new A.E. Eyeworks specs.
He wonders what to do with them and
calls for his daughters to come in
so he can yell at them. "Your
Latin is off again," he screams
and slams the inkpot to the board.
It shatters and coats both lenses
of his new and wond'rous toys.
Blackened now, they rest, forever.
