Blue (Can Mean Anything in a Dream)
by Francine DuBois

blue can mean nothing in real life,
everything in a poem,
and anything in a dream:

affinity between children;
danger eminating from gangrene;
hypothermia in january;
kookiness, mania, narcissism;
oceanic polarities;
quiet rainstorms slushing through utopias;
verbose waitresses, xenophobic youth;
Zoroaster abstaining blissfully;
crackwhores dealing energy from grimy hands;
inmates jiggling keys, laughing mischeviously;
naifs offering passionlesss questions,
revelations swimming tenderly under velvety wistfulness;
you=zombie.
