gathering pecans slowly
off cold November ground
my uncle comments--again--
about the PBS biography
on Pattie Page ("It wasn't
her real name.")
on how I didn't know
Arthur Godfrey or the uneasy
incident that suddenly dethroned him

"But I know Gabby Hayes and
Victor Mature and Van Johnson"
I laughed

"Such language," he replied
"Such language."
