likable

Allen Taylor
the koala is
asleep like Rodin's "The Thinker"
in the "V" of some tree limbs
down the way
the Siberian tigers
jostle for the best spot
on the wooden platform
that is their double bed
and next door we gawk
at an empty cage
attempting to find
the animal
people on the other side
of the tall grass
take pictures of us:
slight humans
on permanent display
