God has made
he was on the news this morning even
his apostle newsmen diligently working
to separate "fact" from "fiction"

he trumped the war in Iraq
he trumped the rolling death toll
he trumped the 24,000 dead citizens
the 1,000 dead soldiers
the interim government
the insurgency
the darkness

the life of Jesus was more important
more timely
spoke to us more

or so said the newsman
as he interviewed the Lord
